Available when the current file is in a preview window (except for Navigator preview of frames).

Image
Displays the Open box, which allows you to select an image to insert in your Web page. Then displays the Image Properties box, which allows you to set the properties for the image.

Web Factory allows you to insert files in any of the following file formats: *.bmp, *.pcd, *.pcx, *.tga, *.tif, *.wmf, *.gif (interlaced .gif and transparent .gif) and *.jpg. Image files in any of these formats can also be edited in Web Factory.

Only images in the *.gif and *.jpg file formats are accepted by image-capable Web browsers. If you insert an image of a different format, you must convert it to gif or jpg. To convert images, see File menu, Save As.

The Image Properties box allows you to set the properties for the image, as follows:

Image PropertyDescription
Image FilenameDisplays the filename and path of the image. You can change the image displayed in this location by typing the filename of a different image, or clicking the Browse button to select an image. You can also specify text (optional) to appear in place of the image for those Web browsers that do not support images.
Alignment with TextClick the button showing how you want the text to align with the image:
  • First button aligns the text alongside the top of the image.
  • Second button aligns the text beside the image, half way down from the top.
  • Third button aligns the baseline of the text beside the bottom of the image. This is the default option.
  • Fourth button aligns the descenders of the text (the bottom of letters like "g" and "y"a) beside the bottom of the image.
  • Fifth button arranges the text so that it word wraps beside the image, forcing the image to the left margin.
  • Sixth button arranges the text so that it word wraps beside the image, forcing the image to the right margin.
Image sizeDisplays the number of pixels wide and high of the image. You can change the size of the image to be displayed in your Web page by changing the width and height here. File size (number of bytes) will not change.
Space around ImageYou can insert a margin of blank space around the image (so, for example, text will not bump up right next to the image) by typing the number of pixels of blank space you want to the left and right of the image, and/or above and below the image.
Image Map (optional)Displays the name of the image map associated with this image, if any. If an image map exists, you can click the Map Prop. button to display the Image Map Properties box.
